Terry Enright - Guitar
I guess it all started when I was 3. It seemed
like everyone
could play guitar, so I better learn. I bothered my mom all the time
that I had to have a guitar. Then, finally, when I was 5 it paid off.
I got my very own guitar. I took some lessons, and learned to read
music. I had to stop the lessons, because my hands weren't big
enough. I kept messing with the guitar, but in 5th grade I also
started playing saxophone in the school band. I played alto, then
switched to tenor sax somewhere in there. In high school, I decided
that the sax was not for me. I got a keyboard. That was a waste of
time; I didn't learn one song on it back then. I traded that in on a
sweet electric guitar, and I was on my way.
I was friends with Dave Carter (a great musician period).
He
introduced me to a metal band he was jamming with, and it all worked
great. We were called Damnation, and had a pretty good run at it. We
opened up for Quiet Riot our first real gig in 1990. After 1993 I sat
the guitar down, and quit the music scene to go to SVCC and get a
degree. At the same time, I wrote some poems, and other junk, but I
actually got one poem published. With my electronics degree I got a
job as an electronics tech. at a factory in Prophetstown. After 10
years of working there, I met Josh Parrott (who also works there). He
told me that their guitar player was quiting, and Josh asked me if I'd
be interested. I auditioned, and the rest is history.
